Jovie Jovv has long cemented his place as one of East Africa’s most consistent and respected rappers, earning a devoted fanbase through his unwavering dedication to the craft. Now, after a nine-month break, he’s back with a statement—his latest track, Boy.
In Boy, Jovie Jovv reminds everyone why he deserves a spot among Kenya’s rap greats.
The track doesn’t hold back, as he name-drops heavyweights like Khaligraph Jones, Bien, Otile Brown, Kasmuel, Nviiri, Buruklyn Boyz, Stoopid Boy, Okello Max, and even the legendary Abbas Kubaff. Interestingly, he has something to say about Stivo Simple Boy.

This release follows his last project, the BTW official music video, and sees him questioning the state of Kenyan hip-hop with razor-sharp lyricism and an undeniable presence. His delivery makes it clear—Kenya’s rap future is in safe hands.
