Renowned Uganda music legend Jose Chameleone has come forward to publicly talk about his death and funeral arrangements which is unprecedented even for him.
In a move that has surprised many, the music maestro talking in an exclusive interview on a local station NBS TV touched on having preparations in place for his funeral.
The ‘Valu Valu’ singer said that he’s convinced that his funeral will attract a lot of people from all walks of life with some even flying in to pay him his last respects so it needs to be nothing short of spectacular.
Jose Chameleone who is one of the richest African musicians today who also owns a few properties in the US disclosed that his casket will be transparent.
He wants to be buried in a transparent casket so that the people who came to see and bid him goodbye will have an opportunity to have a full glance at his body.
He also noted that his lifeless body will be placed on a pedestal preferably in a public place just before burial to allow the multitude of mourners who came to pay their last respects ample time to do so.
“My casket should be glass so that everyone can see me as there will be so many people from different countries who will be here to attend my funeral when I’m gone. I would wish my body to be put in public for viewing,” Jose Chameleone said in part.
Chameleone will make sure that different songs from different artistes will get played at his funeral and not just his music.
“By the way, I was Mowzey Radio’s first fan because I spotted his talent and then showed him to you people. It is not right to remember someone when they are gone, you should celebrate them when they are still alive,” the celebrated artiste who is known for filling up stadiums during his concerts explained.
Just to be fair and to reiterate that he was speaking in earnest, the singer/songwriter and successful businessman urged funeral managers interested in managing his funeral to send their proposal to him in urgency.
He wants to spend good money on his luxurious, unforgettable funeral while he is still alive so that he will be sure that his body gets the best treatment available that money can buy when he’s gone.
