Jimmy Wayuni who is one of the most popular Kikuyu Benga musicians is dead.
The talented musician died on Tuesday evening in a grisly road accident at Githurai on the Thika-Nairobi superhighway.
The ‘Airìtu a Ruiru’, ‘Anisa’, ‘Utuire uhenagia’, ‘Karenjù’, ‘Mama Sululu’ hitmaker was driving another established artiste, Jacksam Kibandi home prior to the road crash that claimed his life.
Reportedly, Kibandi is in the hospital recovering after he sustained serious injuries.
Jimmy Wayuni was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John’s Githurai 45 Hospital as the Ruiru Sub County Police Commander Phineas Lirengera said.
Jimmy Wayuni’s road accident that claimed his life marks the second death of a prominent Kikuyu Benga musician in a span of months after the late legendary musician John De’Mathew lost his life at night along the same road after ramming into a lorry near Blue Post Hotel.
