Jerusalema by Master KG, Nomcebo Zikode is the most shazamed song in the world

‘Jerusalema’ by Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikedo that was officially released on 29 November 2019 has taken the world by storm.

Master KG real name Kgaogelo Moagi, a record producer who produced the ‘Jerusalema’ hit song, and the pioneer of ‘Balebedu’ dance has seen his song ‘Jerusalema’ going viral in 2020.

The song has gone super viral so much so that Janet Jackson shared a clip of young boys dancing to the song holding plates while doing the dance that even caught the attention of Chance The Rapper who has an interest in learning the dance and probably sharing his clip with the world.

The official music video for ‘Jerusalema’ has over 123 million views on YouTube alone and before the month ends, it might have reached 200 million streams because almost everybody on the world is interested in the song and wants to know about it and wants to share it with the world.

Currently, the song is the number one song on the Shazam Global Charts.

“It’s so beautiful to see how ‘Jerusalema’ has taken over the world, to see how far it has gone.

The song did amazing at home, in December 2019 charting on every radio station. It ruled the streets and people created memories to the song.” Master KG told TshisaLIVE in July about how blown away he is the way the song has gotten popular by the day each day.

The song is so big that even the most followed person on the planet and global superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo with over 238 million followers shared a clip of him with the song playing in the background.

The ‘Jerusalema’ hit song gained more Shazams than any other track week-on-week. ‘Jerusalema’ has charted in 26 different countries and there has been an uplift in Shazams of the song in Europe this summer, with users in France Shazaming the song the most.

“It is a dream come true for ‘Jerusalema’ to be Top 4 on the Shazam Global chart. I have always adored other artist being in the chart and now it is my turn… really exciting moments.

If it was not for Shazam, I don’t think people around the world will easily discover my songs,” said Master KG a few weeks ago when the song was on the top 4 on the Shazam Global chart.

This is the first time an African song by an African artiste has taken the number one spot globally on the Shazam chart.

So, there you go, Master KG who is originally from Limpopo has made history, making Africa proud while at it.
