Tanzanian musician Sharif Said Juma aka Jay Melody was arrested by police in Kenya for allegedly attacking a promoter in Mombasa known as Golden Boy.

As a result of the incident, the police in Nairobi arrested him and took him to the Kilimani police station where he was held for hours.

Promoter Golden Boy speaking on the internet said that the quarrel between him happened after the people with the artist Jay Melody attacked him.

“There was a little misunderstanding and I was attacked and I felt that it was not the right thing for me to do. I was really beaten by Jay and the people who were with him.”

In the video published by the YouTube channel, Plug TV, artists and other famous people like Jaguar, Brown Mauzo and his manager and his lawyer arrived at the police station to intervene.

After Jaguar intervened, the Bongo Fleva musician was released.

Jaguar defended Jay Melody saying that it was not an attack from the musician himself but his manager was responsible.

“Jay Melody’s manager and a promoter called Golden had a tension on Saturday at one of Jay’s concerts. So Golden sued the event and that’s why we’re here. But Sonko and I have intervened and brought them together and the whole issue has now been resolved.” Jaguar said.

This is not the first time a musician from the neighboring country of Tanzania has been involved in a brawl and found himself at a crossroads with the local police.

Last year, Harmonize was arrested and taken to the Kilimani police station for allegedly failing to attend a concert he was supposed to perform despite receiving payment.
