Last year comedian Mulamwah happily announced on social media that he was embarking on a project to construct a mansion in his rural home in Trans Nzoia county.
For a while, Mulamwah documented the construction progress from the laying of the foundation to the erection of the pillars.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Mulamwah revealed his huge mansion has so far cost him a whopping Ksh7 million and construction is not done yet.
Mulamwah told Mungai that the house is still very far from being completed as it is only halfway through construction.
The comedian noted that the whole process has given him a great lesson where he has found himself so constrained that he cannot do anything extra.
“It’s a cool thing, I can say it’s a good process that opens your mind, you can’t lose even a cent. You can’t even buy trousers to tell the truth. We are doing fabrication to put windows, doors and other things. That thing is no joke,” Mulamwah explained his experience.
“Right now I have spent about Ksh7 million and we are only half way through the construction. I did not know it could be like that. It is a great project for the future. At this point, I can decide to finish the two rooms first and stay while I continue building later,” he added.
The comedian said that according to the estimated budget that was given to him by the technicians at the beginning of the construction, the whole project until completion will use up to Ksh11 million.
“There is no race, there are no deadlines and it is not something that I want to sleep in tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. It is only gradually depending on the fund and how the Kenyan economy is growing,” he said.
