Isaac Mwaura and Millicent Omanga are among the six nominated Senators who have been expelled by the Jubilee Party.
The nominated Senators have been expelled on the grounds of disciplinary violations.
Jubilee Secretary General, Raphael Tuju through a statement issued on Monday said that the National Management Committee(NMC) met on Monday and deliberated on a report that was filed by the Jubilee’s party disciplinary committee.
The nominated Senators that have been expelled are; Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Omanga Millicent, Prengei Victor, Iman Falhada Dekow, Gona Christine Zawadi, and Isaac Mwaura.
The aforementioned senators had appeared before the NMC last year and this year disciplinary violations as per article 12 of the Jubilee party’s law.
Last year in May, the Senators were on the spot after claims that they snubbed an invitation to a meeting with the President of the republic at the State House without offering apologies.
The meeting only had 20 Senators in attendance including Gideon Moi, the party leader of The Kenya African National Union(KANU).
“The NMC in exercising its mandate provided or under article 7 (2a) of the party’s constitution and relying on other enabling provisions of the party law has expelled the following senators, ” the statement read.
The statement further noted that the expulsion was immediate but noted that the legislators still reserve their right to make an appeal.
“The expulsions are with immediate effect and have been communicated to the Senate and the registrar of political parties,” Tuju said.
