Adut Akech Bior isn’t your typical woman, she’s a black beautiful woman who has made a name for herself in the fashion industry in the shortest time imaginable.
The beautiful Adet Akech who is a South Sudanese-Australian model made her fashion week debut as an exclusive in the Saint Laurent S/S 17 show and went on to close both their F/W 17 and S/S 18 shows as an exclusive.
The 21-year-old model stirred the African internet scenes after the gap-toothed melanin beauty got featured on Runtown’s ‘Kini Issue’ music video in the cameo.
Thereafter, they were reported to be exclusively dating almost immediately after working together.
There are some important things you might have known about Adut Akech.
For instance, Adut spent who was born on Christmas day in 199 in South Sudan spent most of her time in Kenya at the Kakuma Refugee Camp.
“That’s where I spent the first seven or eight years of my life. We didn’t know what a magazine was, and we didn’t know much about fashion.… I only discovered the love that I have for fashion when I moved to Australia.” Still, she looks back on her time in Kenya fondly. “Before I’m anything else, I am a refugee, and I’m so proud of that,” she told Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi.

Adut also walking down the runway early when she was 13. She used to go by a different name in Australia “Mary” which is her mother’s name because teachers couldn’t pronounce her name correctly.
As soon as she entered the fashion industry, she quickly reverted to her name, Adut Akech.
