Comedian Davis Mwambili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, has apologized to the family of the pedestrian he killed in Kilifi county.
The Citizen Radio presenter expressed his deepest regrets to the deceased’s family saying that he didn’t plan to cause the accident and had no intention to kill.
“I am very sorry. I also ask for forgiveness from the family of the deceased. I had not planned to cause the accident. I had no intention to kill, save that an accident occurred and I cannot have left where I was to go and cause the accident,” said Inspekta Mwala.
Inspekta Mwala made the remark while celebrating his son’s birthday, the comedian couldn’t keep calm as his son turned 19.
“Wish My son a happy birthday as he turns 19 years old today,” said Mwala.
Kilifi court found Inspekta Mwala guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and he was given the option of paying a Ksh 30,000 fine or a one year jail sentence.
The victim’s family expressed disappointment at what the Rabai Police Station officers recorded in the Occurrence Book (OB), they claimed the officers had been compromised to omit some information [that Inspekta Mwala was drunk when he caused the accident].
