Insect Dudu releases a unifying Kenyan song

3 mins read

The lyrical, soulful conscious hip-hop maestro Insect Dudu has released this timely patriotic song about truth, justice, reconciliation to bring cohesion to our beloved country KENYA  ahead of the upcoming general elections.

‘Kenya Ni Kwetu’ features Ciro Githunguri, a most sought out voice over artist that champions for women rights and GBV issues. Also featured, is Mc Blaq from an iconic hip-hop group known as ‘Do Clan Revolution’. He fills the void of our old skool hip-hop masters bringing lyrical wisdom and metaphore’s on Kenyan history. Hip-hop artist and activist Hustlajay Mau Mau notoriously acclaimed for fighting against the system of money-focused commercial rap music, he comes in the last verse to delve on the divisive social system and corrupt political system being  rigged against the citizens. The song progresses to lead you to a powerful choral chant ‘tushikane/ tungane/ kwa pamoja tuangamize ukabila/ Kenya ni kwetu/ tushikane/ tungane/ kwa pamoja tuangamize ufisadi/ Kenya ni kwetu’  by children from Riaira Springs Academy fondly know as the Mystic Breed; they close the song as the voice of the future.   Kenya ni Kwetu is produced by the ever consistent musical genius Short Wave whose beats and musical arrangement have been the signature of ALL of Insect Dudu’s hit singles.
