Ilagosa becomes second most streamed musician on YouTube After his death

Another classic example that Kenyans love musicians when they are dead happened after the demise of Ilagosa wa Ilagosa whose songs suddenly started getting played.

Ilagosa died on February 3, 2023.

Until his death, not many people even knew who he was leave alone even listening to his music.

However, Ilagosa became an overnight sensation posthumously and consequently, people started to watch and listen to his songs.

YouTube analytics show that the late Ilagosa was the second most streamed Kenyan musicians on the video streaming site a week ago when reports about his death emerged.

 

The musician died of high blood pressure, autopsy confirmed ending speculations about him dying as a result of being poisoned.

Th late gospel singer was laid to rest last  Thursday in Shemakhokho village, Vihiga County.

The February 16, 2023, burial was attended by several musicians including self proclaimed chairman of gospel Ringtone Apoko.

Speaking during Ilagosa’s burial ceremony that was held on Thursday, Ringtone cracked mourners by saying that the Sala Zangu singer was the only musician who was more handsome than him.

During the burial, the public also got to know about Ilagosa’s widow and son who until then were not known.

The burial was attended of hundreds of mourners who gathered at the late singer’s family home to bid him final goodbye.
