Stanslaus regretted how he wasted his time and money in alcoholism and drug abuse that included bhang consumption for two year.
“I was unable to save even a single cent because I spent almost all money in alcoholism and misused my time because I would report at work at around 11am and leave at 5pm in the evening due to hangovers and the want to take more alcohol, which made my clients lost confidence in my services for they feared I would delay,” regretted Stanslaus.
After a deep soul searching, he made a decision that enough was enough and the first step was to fire his employee and visited a rehabilitation centre to heal from alcoholism which he said costed him more time.
Stanslaus key mission was making his life better no matter what it would cost him and a friend linked on arts opportunity in Juba, South Sudan which he did not hesitate to travel to learn more.
Apparently, life in Juba was more difficult because his Ugandan employer rented a space outside temporary buildings to do his arts and the business was not giving much income due the stiff competition from the local’s similar businesses.
He said that at that time insecurity was a major challenge in Juba because many foreigners were killed and he also escaped narrowly one night when he was from town when thugs attacked him.
With haste,he decided to return to Kenya and decided and settled, after an eight months stay in Juba he had to restart his business.
He never gave up and his business which has now gained popularity in the town and he can make up to sh 10,000 per day in peak season.
The elated Stanslaus said that he has trained up to seven youths including two ladies who have pursued their careers in arts pointing out that most ladies prefer fine arts.
Stanslaus lacked school fees to pursue his career in arts but this did not block his way to success for he has learned more on internet and life experience that has help him expand his market.
