Of late, controversial pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Center has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The preacher recently sparked public uproar when an undated video clip emerged on social media showing him humiliating a member of his church.

The video showed the controversial clergyman lecturing and rebuking a 48-year-old woman in his church over the way she was dressed.

The 3-minute clip shows pastor Ng’ang’a inviting the woman to the altar, where he demands to know what the carrier bag she was carrying contains.

The woman responds by saying that she is carrying a leso in the bag, but the controversial preacher goes ahead to dress her down asking her why she was wearing rubber shoes.

Ng’ang’a told the woman that she is confused because of her age, while at the same time he asked her if she is the one who bought the clothes she was wearing and whether her hair was real or it is hair wig.

The controversial preacher does not regret humiliating the 48-year-old woman. Speaking during an interview with SDE, Ng’ang’a said that he is a father to his congregants and that a father knows what his children need.

“I am acting on behalf of God. I rebuke members of my church to bring them back to God. I am a father, and a father knows what his children need. My children can do with a little rebuking. Sometimes I look at things that I did and I get surprised. It is the spirit in me. God working in me through His spirit,” said pastor Ng’ang’a.
