AKA’s murder has had a profound adverse effect on the restaurant where he was dinning before he was gunned down.

The slain rapper was gunned down outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road on February 10, 2023, alongside a friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The restaurant has since announced that it is permanently ending operations.

The Durban based eatery in a statement says it will officially close down next Monday, 10 April, after a final dining dubbed ‘The Last Supper’.

According to the directors, the decision to close down the business has been reached following low business and client turn out since AKA’s shooting at the restaurant’s doorstep.

“In light of the recent tragic event on our doorstep, we have experienced a severe downturn in business which leaves the directors with no other choice but to close the business permanently as the brand equity of Wish On Florida has been deeply hindered,” reads part of the statement.

The closure of the magnificent restaurant has led to laying off of tens of staff who served the eatery.

The management of Wish On Florida says they have lined up a set of activations from 7 April that will lead to ‘The Last Supper’ on 10 April, when business will officially come to an end.
