Homa Bay County offices burnt to ashes crucial documents lost

Unknown arsonists have burnt down the offices of Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti, reducing most of it to ashes.Very crucial documents have also been lost during the incident.

Homa Bay town residents say the building was set ablaze on Thursday night and it was still burning by Friday morning.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum says one person has been arrested following the incident.

The person is not a resident of the county and was arrested at the scene with burns and petrol.

They suspect they could have been used to start the fire.

Affected offices include procurement and all finance departments. Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) On Tuesday, raided the same offices and confiscated a set of documents and computers.
