Hip hop artiste DJ Dimplez is dead!

The hip hop community not only in South Africa but the entire African continent is mourning the sudden, untimely death of yet another hip hop sensational artiste and deejay, DJ Dimplez.

DJ Dimplez who was super close to the late Riky Rick died on Sunday, 6th March 2022 from a sudden brain hemorrhage.

The South African artiste, real name Boitumelo Athiel Mooi was full of life prior to his death at least according to the friends and family who saw him last. His passing was confirmed by family member Shekesje Mokgosi.

β€œIt is with deep sadness that the Mooi Family announces the untimely passing of Boitumelo Athiel Mooi, popularly known as DJ Dimplez.

He passed away 6th March 2022, from a sudden brain hemorrhage. we ask for your space and respect as we process Tumi’s tragic passing. Thank you for your understanding. The Mooi Family,” the official statement read.

 

DJ Dimplez’s hit songs which are notable are ‘Way Up’ that features Cassper Nyovest, ‘Vacation’ featuring Da L.E.S and Anatii. He was featured on Riky Rick’s hit song ‘Amantombazane remix’ where he had an unforgettable intro to the record, the song also featured Nadia Nakai, Kwesta, Maggz, Okmalumkoolkat, KiD X, Nadia Nakai, and Ginger Trill.

DJ Dimplez released his successful mainstream studio album dubbed ‘Kubu’ back in 2019.

Dimplez was also the founder of Pop Bottles which is a popular hip hop event in Johannesburg.

It has been barely three months and the South African hip hop industry has lost DJ Citi Lyts, Riky Rick, and now DJ Dimplez. This is too much for the music industry to handle, and it’s not okay, this is not okay at all.
