Here is the reason why your music is not getting big

If organic reach is dead… Why do you keep posting the same content to your Instagram or Facebook and expect anyone to see it?

Why do we do the same thing over and over as humans and think that things will magically start working??

Music releases are not an automated process, working a record NEVER stops and putting out music won’t build a music business for you. EVER!

You need to have a marketing plan. One that is built around sustainability and scaling… Here are 5 tips:

1. If you release a song, plan on marketing and promoting that song for months and months, even a year or more!

Music promotion and marketing  requires good timing and knowledge of the market structure. Long term music marketing unveils your music to wider audience and new fan base reach.

2. Make sure you have a budget for marketing! A good starting point is 10% of your total budget for a song should go to marketing the song.

Having a budget structure is essential for your marketing , scaling things out in prior and having well pre written quotation of how much you want to invest into your music promo.

3. TEST! Don’t run an ad and then say, “it didn’t work”… Marketing takes testing and re-testing to figure out what will and won’t work (they even have a term for it A/B split testing).

4. Play the LONG GAME! Marketing efforts need to be kept up for 3/6/9 months, even years… It is better to spend ksh1000 per month on your marketing for 9 months than spend ksh 9000 in one month on an ad you don’t even know how to run!

5. Play you music for everyone you know and have them be honest with you, give you feedback, listen to who they say you sound like, etc. This is SUPER POWERFUL! This is akin to having a test group that can really hone in on your target market and help you avoid wasting money when you do start marketing!
