Hassan Sheikh Mohamud the president of Somalia is now threatening and warning the Kenyan government over the decision to close the Dadaab refugee camp.

Speaking at an interview with BBC,President Mohamud said Kenya’s decision to send back the refugees forcefully and closing the camp will solve nothing but only pose more challenges.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud also warned Kenya over the construction of the security wall along the Kenya-Somalia border claiming it will separate the people from both countries.A wall is reportedly under construction at the border with Kenya to control and supervise movement.

We have more important and common interests we share than refugee camps’ the president added.

The Kenyan government said its decision to close the camp was due to security and economic reasons.

Kenya said the camp was being used as a hiding place for terrorists from the al-Shabaab militia as well as also acting as recruiting base.

Get to think of it? What does this mutual relationship between Kenya and Somalia entail? What does Kenya stand to loose if they close the camp?

DP Ruto said recently that, Kenya was not revisiting the decision, and they would see its implementation by the end of 2016.

The camp is believed to be the harbour and plan point where the unfortunate Garrisa University attack was planned and executed from.

Security agencies also revealed that, following the investigations, the same camps act as transit and exchange zones for illegal arms and weaponry. Should President Uhuru Kenyatta treat this as a threat?
