Hassan Joho, the Governor of Mombasa County has once again placed his people first before anything and everything else during these trying times of the pandemic.
The Governor through his bursary program that was founded back in 2015 has once again helped the parents who have been affected by the ravages of the pandemic COVID-19 by disbursing bursaries in different regions in Mombasa County.
The most stylish governor launched the distribution of KShs. 24, 687,000, and KShs. 38,840,000 of the Mombasa County Elimu Fund bursary program to people from Mvita Sub-County and Changamwe, Jomvu Sub counties respectively.

“I launched the distribution of KES 24,687,000 of the Mombasa County Elimu Fund bursary program. This exercise targeted over 3,000 needy students from Mvita Sub-county.” the Mombasa governor said in part.
“There has been a significant transition rate since the inception of this program in 2015.
We will continue supporting education and skills development as a way of ensuring that we build a competitive human resource.
Our resolve to support the needy students from Mombasa keeps growing stronger as today we disbursed KES 38,840,000 of the Mombasa County Elimu Fund bursary program to those from Changamwe and Jomvu sub-counties.
Through the Mombasa County Elimu Fund bursary program, Governor Hassan Joho saw that over 5,000 needy students were all taken care of by getting their school fees taken care of.” he said.
He went on to add;
“In order to further cushion parents from the ravages of #COVID19, @MombasaCountyKe will embark on the roll-out of phase two of the fund in the 2nd academic term.
We will ensure no student is left behind as we affirm our commitment to improving the academic transition rates.
Over 5000 needy students in colleges, polytechnics, universities, technical and secondary schools, Special Needs and PWD’s from the two sub-counties were all awarded.
Our focus is to broaden the skills & knowledge base of our youths to prepare them for future challenges.” Joho explained.
Hassan Joho has been keen on implementing measures of taking care of all Mombasa residents and in his two terms as the governor of the County, there has been a lot of change and improvements in resources, public facilities, and disbursement of resources.
