Bongo Flava superstar Harmonize has officially hung up his bachelor boots.
The Tanzanian chart-topper, whose rollercoaster romance with actress Kajala Frida has kept East Africa gripped for a decade, confirmed on Thursday February 5, 2026, that he has gone down on one knee for the second time.
In an emotional announcement that has set social media ablaze, the singer declared he is “officially off the market,” referring to Kajala as his “wife” and “life partner.”
The proposal marks a dramatic u-turn for the couple, who only rekindled their relationship in December 2025 following a series of very public—and often bitter—separations.
Writing to his millions of followers on February 5, Harmonize—real name Rajab Abdul Kahali—penned a tear-jerking manifesto of his commitment.
He admitted that his love for Kajala has forced him to grow up, trade his “party boy” ways for discipline, and focus on building a financial empire to support her.
“Loving you has made me love myself more and focus on progress,” the singer wrote. “I find myself succeeding bit by bit because I have a purpose. You have built me and continue to build me into a gentleman.”
The singer stressed that this isn’t just another flash-in-the-pan romance, calling the proposal his “final card in the game of life.”
“10 years later, it still feels like we are starting. Thanks a lot for trusting and always being at my side. I will never take it for granted,” he added.
A decade of drama
The Harmonize-Kajala saga has been a staple of Tanzanian tabloids for years.
Their history is littered with grand gestures—including Harmonize once gifting her a Range Rover and tattooing her face on his leg—followed by high-profile feuds that saw them unfollowing each other and trading barbs online.
However, since their reunion late last year, insiders say the singer has been “a changed man,” shunning the spotlight to spend time at home with Kajala.
In a rare moment of vulnerability, the Bongo singer revealed that “respect” is now the cornerstone of their bond.
He admitted that he now “evaluates every word and action” before speaking, fearing he might embarrass the woman he now calls his “MKEWANGU” (My Wife).
“The respect I receive today is because of her,” he stated, crediting the actress for rehabilitating his image after several years of professional and personal turbulence.
Harmonize first proposed to Frida Kajala Masanja on June 25, 2022, during a star-studded event at the Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
The proposal followed a highly public reconciliation after their first split in early 2021.
However, as fate would have it, Harmonize and Kajala didn’t get married after their proposal as they broke up in December 2022.
