Harmonize has been arrested for failing to perform on a booked gig which he was paid for as his contractual agreement with a Kenyan promoter stipulated.
He’s currently being held at Kileleshwa Police Station in Nairobi, Kenya.
Harmonize whose real name is Rajab Abdul Kahali was booked to perform yesternight by Melamani Limited for a handful of shows but was not impressed by his performance despite being paid for his performance.
Melamani Limited says that the Konde Music Worldwide founder and CEO skipped a number of shows despite being paid for the same.
Harmonize was booked to perform at various locations in Kenya on Saturday alone. He was scheduled to perform at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Captains Lounge, Volume 001, and Cocorico Club among others.
The promoter decided to report the controversial Tanzanian singer to the police where police reacted expeditiously in arresting him.
Harmonize failing to perform
Reportedly, Harmonize showed up at Captain Lounge where he was booked to perform.
The ‘Aiyola’ hitmaker was expected to perform for a good 1 hour and 30 minutes but instead, he allegedly chose to perform for five minutes, this didn’t sit well with the promoter who paid a heft amount to have him perform for his revelers.
Allegedly, the Konde Boy also did the same routine at Cocoriko even though he was paid for the gig.
Confirming the payment, Cocorico’s club DJ, DJ Kay reiterated that he personally delivered the Harmonize’s money to the singer in person.
Even the director for Cocorico, Mr. Joe Barsil noted that he paid Harmonize’s promoter for him to show up for the performance but he underdelivered.
“I paid Ksh.450,000 to Melamani Limited for Harmonize to come to the club for a party and to be with the fans for one and a half hours, but when he came he only stayed for not more than five minutes.,” Barsil told a local publication, K24 Digital.
The sweet plot twist!
Harmonize’s bodyguards are alleging that it’s Eric Omondi who took all the money the singer was paid for his performances and that the clubs are unfairly blaming Harmonize.
“Eric Omondi ni tapeli, atakuja kwanza tuongee. Wakenya tulieni, sisi ni familia, tuko pamoja,” One of Harmonize’s bodyguards told the local publisher K24 Digital.
At the moment, Harmonize, together with his Kenyan friend Eric Omondi is currently held at Kileleshwa Police Station to try to find out the root of the problem as Konde Boy’s bodyguards are trying to intervene as they lay blame on Eric Omondi taking all of Harmonize’s money.
