Simeon Nyachae’s name will live forever through the people’s hearts and the good deeds that he’s done to a lot of people.
Thanks to Simeon Nyachae, a lot of people got the opportunity to go to school and make a life for themselves, and without Nyachae’s help and guidance, the current Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Security in Kenya Dr. Fred Okengo Matiang’i wouldn’t be who he is today.
The president of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta who arrived earlier today at Gusii Stadium promised to make sure that Nyachae is forever immortalized in Kenya.
President Uhuru has announced that the Gusii Stadium will be renamed “The Simeon Nyachae Stadium” in honor and remembrance of the late former Cabinet Minister.
Addressing the mourners who turned up in thousands during Nyachae’s funeral service at the Gusii Stadium went ahead to say the stadium will be upgraded to international standards.
President Uhuru Kenyatta doing this is his own way of the government appreciating the important roles the late Cabinet Secretary did to and for his people when he was in power, he was always just, firm and honest in his decisions.
“Mzee Nyachae will live forever in our hearts, minds, and memories and in the history of the nation, that is entirely grateful for his exemplary service.
In his memory and in consultation with the leadership of Kisii County and to fortify our appreciation of this great son of Kenya, we have considered it fit to rename this stadium The Simeon Nyachae Stadium Kisii.” President Uhuru Kenyatta said.
The Gusii Stadium will get a KShs. 150 million-upgrade to revamp the stadium to be in the international standards.
“And to ensure that this stadium is completed by the end of this year, and to an international standard, we will allocate an additional Sh150 million to the county government of Kisii to have this stadium complete,” added the President.
