The government has gazetted that tomorrow 25th of October 2017 will be a public holiday. We all knew about the holiday that had been gazetted for the 26th of October 2017 so people could vote. So this comes as a bit of a surprise. Why? Because of the late nature of the announcement.

Why was 7th August 2017 not a public holiday?

Why do you think that the government made the 25th of October a public holiday but not the 7th of October?
