Gospel rapper Maluda credits his music success to secular rappers Khaligraph Jones and Kayvo Kforce

Eystone Mukubi, popularly known by his stage name Malud, has come out to salute  secular rappers who have played a pivotal role in his music career.

For starters, Maluda is an award winning Kenyan gospel artiste that has been in the industry for the past 13 years. He started his music career back in 2006 but it was only in 2016 that he made a big impact in the music industry.

Maluda has a handful of hit song to his name, he has dropped several songs with music heavyweights including; ‘Have Mercy’ featuring Khaligraph Jones, ‘Easy’ featuring Juliani and ‘Glory to King’ featuring Kayvo Kforce.

Maluda’s big break in music industry came in 2016 when he featured Juliani in his hit song ‘Easy’. The song was nominated for the 2016 Groove awards in Hip hop song of the year category and won.

In a recent interview with Word Is, Maluda said that before winning the Groove award he felt rejected after almost a decade of not making it in the music industry.

“I have been in the industry since 2006, and 2016 is when I won an award. It took me 10 years of rejection, sweat and blood. I felt like most of the guys we did music with, their thrust came early. I reached out to them for support but they couldn’t,” said Maluda.

Maluda also credited his music success to rappers secular rappers Khaligraph Jones and Kevo Kforce, gospel rapper Juliani and singer/songwriter Anto Neosoul.

“Khaligraph gave me a verse when he was at the top. It took me one phone call and that’s why I will always respect him. He showed me the business aspect of music. Juliani, Anto Neosoul and Kayvo Kforce also helped me,” said Maluda.
