Gor Mahia’s Jaro Soldier married his longtime girlfriend Emmer Owaga in a traditional Luo ceremony last Sunday.
Jaro who is known as Jared Obonyo by his real name, has been dating Emmer since 2014 when they met at Nyayo Stadium while watching a Gor Mahia match.
The two lovebirds have since decided to formalize their union with a traditional Luo ceremony that was held in Mirogi, Ndhiwa Constituency in Homa Bay County.
Jaro paid 12 cows as dowry for Emmer.
“I decided to take 12 cows to her parents because she is very beautiful, kind and very faithful to me. You know ladies are bound to be approached by men on a daily basis, everywhere they (ladies) go. But mine, tells men that she is the wife of Gor Mahia’s 001 Jaro Soja; and once she makes them aware, the men give up, and instead accord her a lot of respect.” Jaro was quoted by eDaily.
