Gloria Ntazola, who became famous after driving off with Nairobi county kanjo, has rubbed Gengetone fans the wrong way with her insensitive comments.

Ntazola in a post on her Instagram Stories dissed Gengetone as a disgusting genre of music that she would be caught dead listening to.

She further dismissed Gengetone artistes as lazy musicians who can’t invest in their art.

“I don’t listen to Kenyan music because there is nothing to listen to. With my beautiful face, I should listen to Gengetone? No, hell no. Very lazy musicians can’t invest in their art. Let’s stick to running. Heri niskize nyimbo za Waluhya kuliko Gengetone,” Ntazola wrote.

The statement sparked a flurry of reactions from ordinary Kenyans and celebrities alike.

Terence Creative, a well-known content creator, couldn’t help but mock Ntazola’s comments, saying she’s talking nonsense.

Nebulazzkenya humorously extended the critique, implying that Ntazola might even replace the term “Gengetone” with her own creative twist, “NgengeThong.”

Gloria Ntazola became famous in September 2023 after she was seen in a viral video driving off with a Nairobi City County Inspectorate officer while ranting at him for inviting himself into her car.

She got into an altercation with three kanjos when they unlawfully got inside her car in Nairobi CBD.

In the viral video which she shared on social media, Ntazola complained that she was trying to park the vehicle when he was confronted by the kanjos.

Two kanjos got out of the car after a heated argument with Ntazola but one who was seated in the front seat of her car stayed put prompting her to drive off with him.
