She is known for her glowing smile and trendy lifestyle content, but Georgina Njenga has pulled back the curtain on a much darker reality.
In a series of raw Instagram Stories, the influencer and mother-of-one revealed that she has been battling severe depressive episodes and “frightening” intrusive thoughts.
Njenga, the former partner of Machachari star Tyler “Baha” Mbaya, admitted that the pressure to remain consistent online often forces her to mask deep emotional pain.
“I hate having depressive episodes,” she confessed.
“I sent a photo to my best friend because I was not myself, but I literally had work to shoot no matter what.”
Njenga hinted that the aftermath of her breakup with Baha has been the primary catalyst for her mental health decline.

She described a harrowing cycle of flashbacks and “random suicidal thoughts” that have left her shaken.
“Thank God for the gift of healing, but the flashbacks… get scaring sometimes,” she shared, adding that she plans to start a weekly series to talk openly about mental health to help others in similar positions.
Addressing the end of her relationship with Baha, Georgina dismissed long-standing rumors that his public gambling scandal was the cause.
She clarified that the pair had already “unfollowed” each other and moved on before the issue became public knowledge.
“We broke up before the gambling issue,” she stated firmly.
“It was just not working. There were just piled-up issues, ni mambo mingi yenye hamjui (there are many things you don’t know).”
In a move that resonated with many young Kenyan parents, Njenga emphasized that she refused to stay in an unhappy relationship “just for the child.”

She praised Tyler as a devoted father who remains active in their daughter’s life, but insisted that co-parenting was a healthier choice than a toxic household.
“A child should not be a reason to stay in a relationship; you can co-parent,” she noted.
As she focuses on her healing journey, Njenga’s message to her followers remains one of resilience: “To anyone who is not okay, we will be [okay] this year.”
