Gabiro Mtu Necessary castigated the haters who still are in disbelief about his achievement and accolade of getting considered for the 64th Grammy nomination after releasing his EP recently.
The self-proclaimed Kisumu President has managed to make a name for himself as an artiste who commands respect and admiration from his fans and most importantly he represents Kisumu city through his music.
Despite his initial vow of quitting music, he found purpose once again that brought him back in the music scene where he capitalized on the momentum and released a stellar music project dubbed ‘Jenesis’ that has separated him from the rest.
The EP got picked up for Grammy consideration in two weeks after he released the project officially in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.
Gabiro Mtu Necessary is among the three Kenyan artistes who have been considered for a Grammy nomination, the other two are Victoria Kimani and Octopizzo.
Expressing himself on social media on social media, Gabiro Mtu Necessary who is the second male artiste from Kenya to be considered for a Grammy nomination together with Octopizzo had something to say about the musicians who only reached out to him not to congratulate him but to find out if what they heard about the nomination being true.
“I sit back and laugh because instead of being happy that one of you made it to the Grammys you are busy throwing negative vibes, why don’t you ask me how I did it? Is it not better to ask how you can also be on that Grammy page just like me instead of degrading my efforts?” Gabiro Mtu Necessary said in part.
This is what Gabiro Mtu Necessary wrote on social media a few days ago castigating some of Kenya’s musicians for being blinded by jealousy instead of being supportive of his achievement:
“KENYAN MUSICIANS ARE A JEALOUS LOT!!
It’s exactly 2 weeks since this EP got recognized by the Recording Academy / GRAMMYs and even though it came as a dream I am grateful that I made history not just as the FIRST KISUMU BASED MUSICIAN to be considered for a Grammy but also as the ONLY MALE MUSICIAN FROM KENYA TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE 64TH GRAMMYs.
A lot of my fellow musicians were only calling me and sending me messages asking “is it true what I saw?” “are you sure you are the one they are talking about?” and one even said and I quote “Gabiro mmoja? Bado hawezi ingia Grammy na artist B hajaingia, it’s impossible”
I sit back and laugh because instead of being happy that one of you made it to the Grammys you are busy throwing negative vibes, why don’t you ask me how I did it? Is it not better to ask how you can also be on that Grammy page just like me instead of degrading my efforts?
Anyway, I am used to people locking me out from the media to fellow artists and that is why I am always focusing on building myself and my fan base one day at a time because one thing for sure I never kiss @$$ coz that $hit is not healthy.
Eric Omondi is busy waking us up forgetting that we are not even asleep we are just a bunch of nincompoops who are okay when its them that are involved. Stop waking us up Omosh we are much awake the problem is jealousy, small minds and lack of ambition.
Rayvanny just became the first African artist to perform at the #mtvema and the whole of Tanzania is happy and posting about it as they appreciate the efforts regardless of his tribe or musical status.
Big shout out to all the DJs, presenters, bloggers, promoters, fans, and event organizers who have been showing love since day one.”
