Gabiro Mtu Necessary shocked the music world right after he announced that he was renouncing his music career to venture on something totally different from music.
He had plans of going to work in a 9-t0-5 IT job and he already had plans underway to do the same.
He changed his mind later after he had an epiphany of sorts and decided to go back to do what he loves doing and that’s doing music and putting it out for the masses to consume.
As it turns out, that was one of the best decisions he has ever done in his music career because right after he came back, he released his sizzling and timeless studio EP dubbed ‘Jenesis’ that was highly acclaimed and even helped him get recognized by Grammy Awards.
“6 months ago I decided to quit music and concentrate on other things and it’s really amazing how 6 months later I am still here with the people who believed in me and I even got a Grammy recognition with this project,” Gabiro Mtu Necessary said in part on social media.
Gabiro Mtu Necessary’s ‘Jenesis’ EP has over 500,000 streams on Boomplay and over 100,000 streams on iTunes, which is something that he thought wasn’t possible to achieve as an independent artiste based in Kisumu.
Gabiro also disclosed that he usually feels his late father’s presence every other night he sleeps. He says that he can feel his father’s presence connecting to his genius helping him to get better as an artiste in the competitive music industry.
“Living in Kisumu and getting 500,000+ streams on Boomplay and another 100k+ streams on iTunes has always been seen as impossible and what a good time to be alive.
My daddy up in heaven he visits me every night when I’m dreaming and I can feel his spirits connecting me to my genius.
I’m blessed, shredded up so I flex!!,” Mtu Necessary added.
Everything considered Gabiro Mtu Necessary is one of the most hardworking independent artistes in East Africa today has amassed a loyal fanbase over time without any clouts whatsoever but hard work and consistency over time.
The rapper has been holding down Kisumu City for years now and fans are loving him for it, he’s currently the biggest export of the Kisumu music scene in terms of contemporary mainstream music today and he’s not relenting, at least not anytime soon.
He’s one of the artistes that deserves any and all props coming his way, he didn’t call himself the ‘Kisumu President’ for naught, apparently, he knew what he was doing from the onset.
