Former Tahidi High actress Gloria Moraa appeared before the Makadara Law Courts where she was charged with reckless and negligent act.
The actress was slapped with a lawsuit after her dog bit her neighbour’s four-year-old child in Embakasi on July 30, 2023.
The court heard that the child was playing outside when Moraa’s dog bit her.
The child’s mother rushed her to a nearby hospital while bleeding.
The minor’s mother called Moraa even before she reached the hospital to inquire if the dog had been vaccinated but she could not ascertain whether she had taken the dog for vaccination.
The actress kept taking the victim’s mother round and round promising to provide the vaccination certificate for her dog but failed to provide it at the end, prompting the child’s mother to sue her.
The victim’s mother reported the matter at the Embakasi police station and the media personality was traced and arrested.
Moraa denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Irene Gichobi of the Makadara Law Courts.
She could be forced to pay a hospital bill of more than Ksh150, 000 to the child’s mother to have the case against her withdrawn.
Moraa was released on a cash bail of Ksh10, 000.
The case will be mentioned on November 16, 2023, before hearing starts on February 20, 2024.
