Five reasons why Mbithi is the next Kenyan big thing in hip hop

6 mins read

If you might not know who Mbithi is by now, then you might as well know who King Kaka is and that would be a shame. King Kaka just recently put on Mbithi as his protégé in his recent single ‘Round 2’ that ideally is a record that reminds artistes that King Kaka is an artiste to reckon with, whether you like it or not, a fan or not.

Mbithi is gradually so talented and coming up as one of the new school rappers in the game today. It’s only a matter of time before he takes the music industry by storm.

That being said, here are the five things that makes Mbithi a unique prospect in the Kenyan hip hop game to take over in the near future.

He pays homage

Mbithi is known for giving props where it is due and he has done so by acknowledging King Kaka for putting him on in the mainstream media as a rapper to look out for.

#Mood Woke up feeling and listening to some #eazy from the don @kayvokforce, People are are dropping some too dope records this year I swear,RESPECT @kayvokforce” Mbithi said about Kayvo Kforce’s recent single release in ‘Eazy’.

He also respects other artistes who came before him and just the other today, he gave out props to veteran rapper Kayvo Kforce in a hearty Instagram post.

He is talented and humbled

Yes, Mbithi is as talented as any talented artiste can be and the best part of it is that he knows it and he is humbled and doesn’t let it to get to his heart like most upcoming artistes usually do, he is a different breed.

I sadly admit that I got to know about him recently after King Kaka featured him on his ‘Round 2’ record and he blew my mind away and ever since he has been on my radar and truth be told, he is one prospect whose future is looking bright than the morning star.

He is representing the Akambas

This proves how courageous, self determined and motivated he is for him to proudly represent not a hood(by the way I don’t know which hood he is representing) but he is representing the whole Akamba people through his rap and he is doing quite a good job thus far.

For one rapper to represent his whole community is something not to be taken lightly and should be commended and that being said, Mbithi is currently doing a good job representing the whole Kambas out there.

I know I feel him though and I am not a Kamba person. That should count for something.

He has a good attitude

For anyone who wants to make it in the hip hop game, in inevitable for them to have a positive attitude and self-believe upon oneself and if possible once in a while have an alter ego just like Octopizzo recently introduced his own called Papichulo.

Mbithi has a good attitude in his rap and he takes it serious as any rapper should and he has been pushing on in the music even though nobody knew about him before King Kaka put him on.

His SoundCloud account proves how prolific he is and has always been with him music and proves how he has been pushing on. Just listen to his ‘Kitu’ single with K3hmboi and you will agree with me why his name deserves some respeck!

Mbithi is a young diamond in the dirt coming up fast like no other rapper I know.

He can spit some bars

Like most rappers, for them to be taken seriously in the industry, they have to be able to spit some bars and deliver in their lines and so far so good, Mbithi has done in ease, some would say seamlessly. His verse on King Kaka’s ‘Round 2’ single is something that you can have it on replay and still don’t get bored one bit.

Mbithi recently went to spit some on HomeBoyz radio and he was given G-Eazy’s single ‘No Limit Remix’ which features A$ap Rocky, Juicy J, Belly, Cardi B and French Montana and he nailed it!

The way he delivered on the beat was so classic am sure Boi-1da and Allen Ritter would be proud if they heard Mbithi’s verse on their beat.

Watch his verse on the beat below

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
