Thanking his girlfriend

Opening up about the struggles that he had to go through before becoming the number 1 fastest African man alive, Ferdinand Omanyala says that he was broke for six months surviving only by his girlfriend’s salary.

Ferdinand Omanyala who disclosed that he was staying in Huruma together with his girlfriend says that if it were not for his girlfriend believing in him and making the necessary sacrifices that she did for him, he honestly doesn’t know if he would have become the person that he is today.

Omanyala revealed that his girlfriend used to bring her salary, placing it on the table and help budget for everything, giving him money for training, pay rent, support him, and even prepare a hot sweet meal for him when he comes back from training.

“I remember in February when we went to them[Odibets], I was living in Huruma [estate] by the way. We won’t to them and told them that life has become a bit challenging. I know last year during the Corona period, it was a hard year but for me it was like a blessing in disguise because I trained for six months without any competition and I believe what I did last year is what has pushed me to where I am today because I was training without any goals,” Omanyala said in part at the appreciation event held for him by Odibets betting company.

“I was training because I wanted to get better today in training, I want to get better more, I want to be better than I was yesterday so I trained for six months and we had no money. Thanks to my girlfriend, she was paying the rent, she was taking care of the bills because she was working.

So she was bringing the money on the table for budgeting saying; this certain amount is for training, this is for rent, this is for food. At least when I come back from training to come home, I used to find her with hot water to massage him, I feel smart[sic].

Everything is getting back. even me where I’ve reached [professionally] I want to take care of her so she’ll get anything she wants, she’s been a part of this journey,” Ferdinand Omanyala said in his speech.
