Maandy is a fast-rising rapper in the hip-hop scene from Nairobi making a name for herself using bars upon bars in the game, she’s slowly gaining hip-hop’s critics and fans attention through her great delivery and sexy, confident persona on almost all her records.
Her introduction into the Kenyan rap world began with ‘CHEF’ (Close Hitting Every Femcee) record which was her 2 cents on the Femi One ‘Pilau Njeri’ debacle. She has since kept her fans busy with freestyles such as ‘Test Drive’, ‘Mistakes’ and ‘Mandyquin’.
Maandy is influenced by New York rapper, Lil Kim because “she’s the unlimited real female OG” so it came as no surprise that she would pick one of her classic songs, ‘Whoa’, to freestyle on ‘Mandyquin’.
The outspoken rapper has also performed at numerous hip-hop events such as UnKut and Shrap Nite, leaving fans citing her as one of the prolific, protégé rappers to watch. Her performance on a cypher hosted on NTV’s late night show, The Trend very early on in the put her on as a serious rapper to watch out for, who has bars.
“There are plenty entertainers coming up right now, both male and female. ‘Like A Boss’ is a declaration of the moves I make to set me apart from the rest… boss moves,” Maandy said about her ‘Like A Boss’ record which was produced by Brown YH.
With the aim of raising the stakes in the rap industry higher, Maandy released the visuals for ‘Like A Boss’ record where she aims at the number one female rapper spot like a few women in the game, she’s as talented as next talented rapper you’ve heard of.
The video, directed by Callivan Creatives, has been well received by fans and is only the beginning of Maandy’s takeover in the rap game, her delivery and confidence might make her even reach the top spot sooner rather than later.
