The highly anticipated Tokooos Tour brought Nairobi to a standstill with Congolese artiste Fally Ipupa bringing a four-hour performance as part of his worldwide tour. He kicked off his tour with an appearance at the 40 Forty club; where they were celebrating a one-year anniversary.
The Congolese star played alongside his endeared band as thousands of fans filled the regular and VIP sections; giving the faithful revelers one of the best live performances.
Fally revealed plans to do more collaborations with Kenyans artistes, “I have already done a collaboration with Sauti Sol and have something coming up with a different artiste,” he said. “One of the delicacies I love when I come to Kenya is ‘nyama choma’; I can’t wait to have some, “he added.
Other artistes who took the stage included Les Wanyika and Gogo Simo band. One of the most interesting performances was from Nairobi-based Congolese musician and Rhumba Maestro General Defao.
“We have a growing family and community of rhumba lovers and were thrilled with the opportunity to provide a richer brand experience with the Tukooos Tour,” said EABL Head of Spirits AnnJoy Muhoro. “We are focused on bringing out the rich heritage and culture of Rhumba music in this stunning setting,” she added.
