Former Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero was spotted in Kilifi County earlier this morning ahead of the BBI tour in the region.
Reportedly, the ODM leader and Evans Kidero held talks at Raila Odinga’s residence in Malindi.
It hasn’t been made public what the two men talked about. They are yet to speak on the same publicly when the time is right.
Dr. Evans Kidero has since shown interest in vying for the Gubernatorial seat in Homa Bay County in 2022.
He hasn’t announced which political banner he intends to vie the seat on but political pundits are willing to place their bet on the ODM party.
Should he succeed in getting elected in the upcoming general election in 2022, Dr. Evans Kidero would have set precedence by becoming the very first Governor in the Kenyan constitution to be the boss of two different counties.
So far, the Homabay County MP, Hon. Gladys Wanga is also likely to contest for the gubernatorial position in 2022 but since she’s on the same team with Dr. Evans Kidero, there’s a probable chance one of them will leave the position for the other if Baba comes in between them.
“I have heard some people saying I am defending my seat while others say I am eyeing Rangwe parliamentary seat. Let them stop the political propaganda,” Wanga said earlier this year speaking during a women’s empowerment programme at Riat Village in Ndhiwa.

Gladys Wanga said she’s had consultations with various groups which made her get the endorsement of the Luo Council of Elders in Rangwe.
“I have had consultations with stakeholders and concluded that I am running for Homa Bay gubernatorial seat. This decision is what made the elders endorse me last week,” Wanga said.
Homa Baby County Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata is also keen on occupying the seat once the incumbent Governor Cyprian Achilaus Otieno Awiti leaves the position next year.
“There is nobody closer to this seat than me. Let the right time come,” Orata said.
Apart from Wanga, Orata, the seat has also attracted a number of candidates including County Secretary Isaiah Ogwe, former Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga, former Nairobi Governor Kidero, Kuppet Secretary-General Akelo Misori, businessman Jared Otieno, and ODM National Chairman John Mbadi.
