Fast-rising hip hop group may be forced to hire copyright lawyer because the rate at which their music is being pulled down from YouTube is worrying.

In August this year, Ethic’s hit song ‘Figa’ which featured Kamene Goro as the main video vixen was pulled down from YouTube for copyright violations.

The breakup group suffered a similar fate when they recently released their new song dubbed ‘Thao’ featuring Boondocks Gang which was also been pulled down for copyright infringement.

‘Thao’ was pulled down from YouTube after a company called De Gigz Films launched complaints about the video for sampling their beat without permission.

“Video unavailable. This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by De Gigz Films,” read the warning on YouTube while searching for Ethic’s new song ‘Thao’.

Beat sampling is legal around the world as long as the producer seeks permission from the owner of the original sound/beat before using it in another song.

Ethic however seem to have sorted out the copyright issue they had with De Gigz Films, their video has since been re-uploaded on YouTube.
