The long and tiresome road to the release of ‘Tendaness’ has come to an end. On Friday, April 22 after nearly 2 years of waiting, Tatenda Mandaza finally delivered his long-awaited self titled album ‘Tendaness’ released under his own imprint Tendamix with the album has been distributed by Africori.
The Genre-Bending Tendaness had been teasing the release of the album for a while now, first announcing the tape back on August 9, 2017, when he released his smash hit ‘Jika’ which features singers Bholoja and LO.
To help build hype for the album, Tendaness and team have been rolling out new records over the past few weeks, including songs like ‘Mosha’, ‘Love’ and ‘Mina Ngedwa’.
Serving as Tendaness first official project since Grande in 2016, ‘Tendaness’ contains 13 tracks in total and comes with features from an array of talented musicians, all who fit perfectly with Tendaness’ sound. Features include the legend Bholoja, LO, Velemseni, Zanda Zakuza Afro-pop artist Vuyokazi Tshaya, Tshego AMG, Slovakia’s leading female Hip Hop artist Aless, and more

The album’s lead singles ‘Jika’ and ‘Love Me’ have already received airplay and charted in the major radio station in Africa and the world. The two singles have charted on YFM in South Africa (Both ‘Jika’ and ‘Love Me’ peaked at No 2. On the YFM YUrban, top 40 charts), BBC Radio 1xtra in the UK (Jika peaked at No 2 on the DJ Edu DNA Top 5 Chart) and PBS FM in Melbourne, Australia (Jika hit No 4 on the Afro Turn Up Chart with Kix) to name a few.
Described as a “genre-bender,” Tendaness’ sound infuses elements of a variety of genres such as Jazz and Folk with electronic elements and the result is a sound with worldwide potential. Tendaness manages to perfectly marry different musical worlds creating a lane he can safely call his own.
