Elsa Majimbo has denied she trashed Kenya and offered a $1,000/Ksh153,000 reward to anyone who can prove the accusation.
Taking to social media, Majimbo disclosed that anyone who can produce a video of the social media personality professing her hate for Kenya is assured of the money.
“I will pay $1000 to anyone who can produce a video of me saying the words ‘I hate Kenya’, “ Majimbo stated on her X page.
Elsa Majimbo trashed Kenya in a TikTok video, deleted the video, denied she talked ill about the country and its people before she offered a KshKsh153,000 reward to anyone who can produce the video.
But even as Elsa thought no one has the video simply because she deleted it, some people actually saved the clip and reposted it online.
In the video, the controversial US-based comedian shared the reasons behind her decision to leave Kenya at the age of 19.
The 22-year-old claimed that she faced discrimination and negativity due to her dark skin compelled her to seek a more supportive environment abroad.
“I faced a lot of it when I grew up… there were a lot of comments on ‘oh, you are so dark.’ There was so much of that, and when that started happening when I was growing up, I was like, I will never progress in this country with this kind of mentality,” she explained.
Majimbo emphasized that her decision to leave was not about adopting a victim mentality but a strategic move to pursue opportunities and recognition.
She declared her loyalty to success and financial growth, highlighting the positive reception of her skin in the US.
“In the US, everyone is like, ‘oh my God, look at your skin, it is so stunning, it looks like pearl, it’s shining.’ So why wouldn’t I not be paid in dollars?” she asserted.
The comedian’s remarks sparked varied reactions on social media.
Some acknowledged the existence of colorism in Kenya, while others contested the narrative, urging Majimbo not to generalize the entire country based on individual experiences.

It is not the fast time that Elsa Majimbo is trashing Kenya. The controversial comedian, who first moved to South Africa before relocating to US, said Kenya was a VERY horrible place to live in during an interview in 2021 with foreign media, she vowed never to ‘look back’ having left the 254 for South Africa at the time.
Majimbo rubbed Kenyans the wrong way when she declared that she felt safer living in South Africa than staying in Kenya.
The young comedienne appeared in an interview with AB Talks YouTube interview with Anas Bukhash in May 2021 and gave reasons why she is not planning to return to Kenya.
She said that she has had a bad relationship with Kenya and that the moment she left the country, she has never looked back.
“I have a bad relationship with Nairobi. People think it is just the internet but people have made it hard for me in Nairobi,” Elsa Majimbo said.
She added that;
“It did feel like everyone in the city is against me. So most of the time I would stay in the house and mind my own business. Then I went to South Africa where I was supposed to stay for four days, I went and never looked back.”
Majimbo stated that she found happiness elsewhere and added that she told her manager that she would rather hope from country to country than go back to Nairobi.
“My sister asked me where I would be going when l leave Dubai and said do not know, she told me to go back to Nairobi but after thinking about it, I said that was the worst option for me. I told my sister if I have nowhere else to go, I would rather go back to South Africa,” Elsa Majimbo said.
She thanked South Africans for rallying behind her when Kenyans did not find her content amusing.
According to Majimbo, South Africans pushed her content to the global audience. She said she was glad she has a home in South Africa, where she feels safe. Further adding that Kenya was not that place for her.
"I think I've faced a lot of bullying there, it really did seem like everyone in the city was against me, so I have a home in South Africa & I'm really glad I do, I feel safe there but Kenya is not that place…"

The same Elsa Majimbo who claimed that she was being discriminated for having a black skin tone said she could not date black people because she preferred whites to her own race.
In December 2022, Elsa introduced her mzungu boyfriend DJ Hkeem to the world in a steamy post.
Days after introducing DJ Hkeem, Majimbo took to TikTok to explain why she opted to date a white man.
She vowed to marry a Caucasian so that her children could have white privilege.
White privilege is inherent advantages possessed by a white person on the basis of their race in a society characterized by racial inequality and injustice.
“Not only am I going to marry outside my culture, I’m going to marry outside my continent. My kids deserve another passport. The trials and tribulations of having a weak passport build character. I’ve had to explain to my agencies, my manager- everyone, that I actually need visas to go to places and they tell me ‘oh, you can grab it like a week before, you can grab it at the airport’ The privilege is showing! The money and opportunities I’ve missed, it hurts inside, it hurts so much.
“At the end of the day, it’s not my country’s fault and I cannot blame them and I do love having my passport, it’s the world that is the problem. It all boils down to race,” Elsa Majimbo said.
