Kenyan rapper Dyana Cods has candidly reflected on her housing journey in Nairobi, offering a glimpse into how her lifestyle has evolved alongside her career. From moments of financial strain to redefining what she now considers comfortable living, the artiste’s story captures the realities of growth in the city.

Dyana revealed that the lowest rent she has ever paid was KSh 40,000 per month—a period she described as especially difficult. “My cheapest rent ilikuwa mbaya, it was like 40k,” she recalled, explaining that the amount put immense pressure on her finances and coincided with a challenging chapter in her life and career.

Looking at where she is now, Dyana Cods says her standards have shifted significantly. She currently views KSh 250,000 per month as a fair rent benchmark in Nairobi, a reflection of her personal growth and improved financial standing. Despite this, she noted that she is presently living in what she considers a very cheap area, implying that her current residence does not fully match her lifestyle aspirations.
