A man aged 19 years and his female cousin aged 13 years from Kokwet village in Kipkelion Sub-County, Kericho County were on Wednesday arrested on suspicion of committing incest. Yuck!
This story is super-crazy! Apparently, the man and the girl are maternal cousins. Yaani, their mothers are related to one other! The suspect had been in Kericho town trying to pursue a driving course and did casual jobs in Kericho for sustenance of both himself and the teenage girl during their brief rebellion.
The man had managed to get the standard six girl to elope with him in a nearby bush and they had been living together for a month until the police busted them.
That isn’t the craziest part about this whole sordid affair. Apparently, the man seduced the girl while he was living in a house the father of the girl had provided for him to stay in. Talk about stabbing in the back! Your own relative manipulates your own teenaged daughter into marriage! This is wrong on so many levels!
The police have said that once the case is concluded, the suspect may face charges of incest and being in a relationship with a minor. may he get his just rewards!
