Legendary rapper DMX has died.
The rapper who was also an actor real name Earl Simmons passed away at White Plains Hospital in New York on Friday 9, 2021.
DMX short for Dark Man X who changed the hip hop scene as we know it with his 1998 studio album dubbed ‘It’s Dark and Hell is Hot’ was taken to White Plains Hospital in New York on April 3, 2021 and admitted immediately after a drug overdose.
It is reported that the drug overdose triggered a heart attack.
DMX, a multi-platinum rapper was later on placed in life support after little brain activity was recorded.
He passed away on April 9, 2021 at White Plains Hospital in New York in New York.
A representative for White Plains Hospital in New York also shared a statement in which the medical staff extended their “deepest condolences” to DMX’s family and fans worldwide:
“White Plains Hospital extends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Simmons, as well as his friends and legions of fans who expressed their unwavering support during this difficult time. Earl Simmons passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest.”
His family confirmed his death saying that he fought till the very last second of his life.

The family of DMX, 50 issued an official statement thanking his millions of fans worldwide for showing and giving him much-needed support right after he was admitted to the hospital on April 3 after suffering from a drug overdose.
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.” the official full statement from DMX’s family read.
