The celebrated Kenyan deejay, DJ Pierra Makena opened up about the current state of deejays in Kenya, especially the female deejays who are keen on selling their sexuality than their talent and experience.
Having an exclusive conversation with Eve Woman, the deejay who has since evolved in becoming a businesswoman noted that a South African female deejay caused social media buzz right after she was caught exposing herself to the revelers while performing.
“See, many female deejays have turned this whole art into a nude thing. We even saw a female deejay in South Africa strip naked before thousands of fans.
Yes, I also wear hot pants and all that but I feel that female deejays are selling more nudity than an experience. This must change,” the former ‘Tahidi High’ actor told EveWoman in the exclusive interview.
Opening up on how she came up with the idea of the drive-in music concert called ‘Park n’ Chill’, the deejay noted that the idea was initially about bringing friends together but it, later on, became a big thing and thus, that’s the reason why it became a full blow concert and later on, partners joined in.
“Initially, the idea was all about bringing friends together. It grew and bloomed into a full concert and with time, we got partners coming on board. Our 2022 New Year Eve concert in Meru was a real extravaganza and I am rearing to go this year,” the beautiful mother of one said.
She went on to disclose that she has huge plans that will shake the events sector in Kenya and that will change the deejaying scene as we know it today.

She wants to create employment for the youth noting that South Africa is way ahead of us in terms of growth adding that Mzansi’s concerts are big and their performances are powerful.
“I want to employ more creative ideas into the art of events organization and deejaying as I feel that the industry has really stagnated.
When I compare the growth in the industry with South Africa, I see how far behind we are. Their concerts are big and performances are powerful. We just have to do things differently this year,” Pierra added.
With her ‘Park n’ Chill’ drive-in concert, it’s an unprecedented concert in Kenya today, she intends on capitalizing on its popularity to create a consistent, beautiful experience like putting up a concert that will never ever be forgotten.
