Mugithi artiste DJ Fatxo for the first time has spoken about the saga accompanying him following Jeff Mwathi’s death.
Speaking during an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo, DJ Fatxo wondered why many people have been suspecting him to be Jeff Mwathi’s killer when he knows that he could not kill.
“I don’t suspect myself because I can’t kill, Jeff was my friend and I don’t see why I could kill him, he’s just a young man,” Fatxo said.
This was the first time for the Mugithi artiste to speak publicly on a radio station, a week after he was acquitted of the murder of Mwathi who died in the house where Fatxo lives in Kasarani.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in April 2023 forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP)’s office for action the file on the investigations into Jeff Mwathi’s death.
According to the DCI report, Mwathi’s death still remains inconclusive with possible suicide suggested as the strongest explanation for how he met his death.
DPP acting on the DCI’s file failed to charge DJ Fatxo and ordered an inquest into Jeff’s death.
