Kenyans were on Sunday April 2, 2023, treated to shock after a video surfaced showing the last moment of DJ Brownskin’s wife Sharon Njeri alias Shadodo.
In the video, the late Sharon is seen taking poison in the presence of her husband. After some time, she is seen writhing in pain.
It is then that the poisonous substance took a toll on her and she succumbed. The video was recorded last year but only went viral on Sunday.
Sharon died on July 29, 2022.
Many people have come out to castigate DJ Brownskin for recording his wife drink poison, some even calling for his arrest and prosecution.
The househelp Mariamu Vinaywa, who was captured in the video, has now revealed that Sharon wanted to kill herself several times before she actually succeeded in her suicide mission,
Speaking to digital content creator Bob Shakilwa, Vinaywa said she started working for the couple in April 2022, three months before Sharon died.
The househelp said that DJ Brownskin and his late wife had numerous times engaged in a fierce altercations.
Vinaywa said the disagreements forced her from time to time to lock the children in a separate room to save them from the ugly confrontations that he says grew day by day such that she got used to them.
“Mara kadhaa nilikuwa nasikia bibi mwenye nyumba anasema nitajiua,” Vinaywa said.
Vinaywa however reveals that even though she heard her say so, she did not take it seriously.
“Nikajua io ni vitisho baridi kwa sababu huyu ni bwana yake na hakuna vile anaeza jiua na awache watoto wake,” she said.
Vinaywa added that DJ Brownskin appeared unfazed by his wife’s threats to commit suicide and at times he would just say “sawa”.
Vinaywa noted Sharon mostly complained that her husband had grown disrespectful towards her.
On the fateful day that Sharon died, Vinaywa said that the arguments between her bosses began as they always did.
She only got to know something was wrong when DJ Brownskin asked her to bring milk to the living room.
