While Christians all over the world celebrate Easter – the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in Tanzania there was the largest Easter event organized by Wasafi CEO Diamond Platnumz.
Even though he has been a Muslim from childhood, Diamond decided to bring together on the same stage the long-time gospel singers Rose Muhando, Christina Shusho and other for an Easter fete.
In the photos and videos that have been distributed on the internet from the event on the night of Easter Sunday, the artiste Diamond did a wonderful act after agreeing to kneel in front of the pastors who placed blessing hands on him in prayer, wishing him great success in his missions, especially the great event of not wanting religion to cause a divide.
The Easter event was held in a hall in Milimani City and Diamond was seen humbling himself before God’s servants to be prayed for.
“Kila nchi, kila bara likasherehekee kazi anazozifanya… familia nyingi zinaishi kwa sababu ametambua mchango, hakuangalia dini wala kabila, ameangalia utu na uzalendo. Yesu unayembariki hakuna wa kumlaani, na kazi yake izidi kutambulika,” the pastor said while praying for Diamond.
Speaking after the prayer, Diamond said that it was the beginning of a good cooperation that he aims to make between Christians and Muslims.
“Tuendee kushirikiana, nimeongea na kamati pale na huu ndio mwanzo tu. Tutaendela kushirikiana na kuunga mkono katika kila idara, si tuo kila mwaka lakini katika kila muda,” he said.
