Diamond Platnumz shows his appreciation to Parliament after receiving a standing ovation from MPs

Diamond Platnumz came out to show his gratitude to Tanzanian Members of Parliament (MPs) following his treatment at the August House.

The Bongo singer visited Tanzania’s parliament for Iftar – the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during the period of Ramadan.

Dr. Tulia Ackson, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, introduced Diamond to the house when he visited parliament in Dodoma.

The Tanzanian singer received applause from Tanzanian Members of Parliament when he attended the sitting in Dodoma.

“Diamond, you will stand until honorable Members of Parliament stop clapping,” Dr Ackson told the singer as MPs cheered him.

Diamond took to social media to show his appreciation to his country’s lawmakers after they gave him a standing ovation.

“Ni Heshima kubwa, Taasisi ya Wasafi kujumuika na Bunge letu tukufu katika ibada na iftar leo.” (It is an honour for Wasafi to join the parliament in Iftar) Diamond wrote.
