Diamond Platnumz originally had intentions of buying a record label a few years ago before he decided to start his conglomerate music and business empire from the bottom all the way to the top.
This writer has found some interesting and reliable information about Diamond Platnumz wanting to become the owner of an already established record label back then by the name of MDB label.
The owner of the record label, Tanzanian record producer, and businessman, Maximilian Muniko Rioba corroborated this on his recent sit down for an interview with Simulizi Na Sauti.
“MDB iko kwenye box, kuna watu wengi hawajui, MDB ndiyo iliyopelekea jina la WCB,” the film and record producer, Maximilian Muniko Rioba said.
He went on to add, “Diamond ni rafiki yangu sana wa muda mrefu sana, na Diamond alikuwa zamani hizo anakuja kuchill sana studio kwangu, alitokea sana kuipenda MDB. Kwa hiyo bana akaniambia “hii MDB bana mi naitaka hii”, nikwambia “hii MDB ni ya kwangu”. Uzuri wa Diamond ni kwamba anapenda hata kujichallenge kwamba, okay, so kuna MDB, akatengeneza WCB, nikamwambia it’s nice, I love it, ilikuwa inspired na MDB”
Harmonize wants to start on a clean slate with Diamond Platnumz in the New Year
The CEO of Authentic Media Group opened up about the MDB record label which is an acronym to Million Dollar Boyz being defunct but he is working on reviving it later on this year.
Diamond Platnumz’s staring the WCB record label which he later on turned into a franchise saw the rise of now-established artistes like Harmonize, Zuchu, Rayvanny, Mbosso, Lava Lava, and himself, Diamond “Simba” Platnumz that has helped the record label grow.
WCB(Wasafi Classic Baby) isn’t only a record label alone, it has grown into Wasafi Radio, Wasafi TV, which in tandem has helped Diamond Platnumz open up a video production company, Zoom Production that has employed Director Kenny.
