Brief history on the confederate flag

A Confederate flag is usually a symbol that promotes white supremacy which has been used as an attack of people of color.

The flag was first raised in 1962 as a way of defiance against civil rights and a white supremacist response that was meant to intimate black people. It’s often seen as a symbol of slavery and/or racism toward black people.

The 44th President of the United States is in record saying that the confederated flag “belongs in a museum” back in 2015.

BBC reported on the confederate flag saying that the flag was designed in South Carolina in the US for the confederacy of the South which declared that it was going to be its own nation leading to a civil war in the 1860s.

Despite being considered as a symbol of The South and its heritage and everything it stood for, the original designer of the flag wrote saying that the symbol of the confederate flag was a white background and was designed as a symbol of white supremacy.
