The longstanding rivalry between Tanzanian music superstars Harmonize and Diamond Platnumz has flared up again, with the two artistes engaging in a public spat on Instagram.

The feud, involving some of the biggest names in Bongofleva, saw both stars exchange indirect jabs through their posts.

Diamond Platnumz, the WCB (Wasafi Classic Baby) boss, initiated the conflict by sharing a YouTube chart on Thursday.

The chart highlighted him as the most viewed Tanzanian musician for June, boasting 33.7 million views.

He captioned the post with, “Lion and his sons,” seemingly positioning himself as the king of Tanzanian music.

The chart also featured other WCB artists: Rayvanny with 23.1 million views, Zuchu at 13.7 million, and Mbosso with 11.6 million views.

Harmonize, who left WCB to start his own label Konde Music Worldwide, was listed fifth with 11 million views.

In response, Harmonize, also known as Konde Boy, fired back by posting two separate charts.

The first, a top artist chart for the week of June 21-27, 2024, showed him leading the list, with Diamond Platnumz trailing behind him, followed by Rayvanny and Zuchu.

“They can’t post this!! It’s time for Ibraah anyway,” Harmonize wrote, referring to his protégé Ibraah.

The second chart Harmonize shared highlighted the best music videos for June 29, 2024, with his collaboration with Rayvanny, ‘Sensema,’ topping the list. He provocatively captioned the post with, “Where are you dad?”

The video chart also included Zuchu’s ‘Siji,’ Kontawa’s ‘Humanity,’ and Harmonize’s own ‘Disconnect’ in the subsequent spots.

The social media exchange between Harmonize and Diamond Platnumz underscores the intense competition and high stakes in the Tanzanian music industry.

Fans of both artists have been closely watching the feud, which has reignited discussions about their contributions and dominance in the East African music scene.
