Eric Omondi, Diamond Platnumz, Sauti Sol are among the celebrities who were feted at the inaugural Magic Vibe Awards held in Texas, US.
Magic Vibe Award is the sole East Africa Award Ceremony and music festival in the diaspora. The award caters to all music genres including film and sport.
“Magic Vibe Awards is committed to rewriting the East African entertainment arts story by putting our artists on the world map. Music aligns with the dream started by the Magic Vibe Awards because East African music is on the verge of global breakthrough and we are proud to be part of this history. Magic Vibe Awards is the instrumental force that will aid in the crossover and commercial recognition,” the organisers said.
The first edition of Magic Vibe Awards was held virtually from the Globe-News Center of Performing Arts in Amarillo, Texas, on 4 September.
Fast rising singer Kenyan singer Iyaani won best east African new artiste. Other winners from Kenya included Sauti Sol, Femi One and Eric Omondi.
Tanzanian musicians lead by superstar Diamond Platnumz dominated Magic Vibe awards list of winners.
